The City of Regina’s Community Development, Recreation and Parks Department is seeking a visionary leader with demonstrated success in policy development, strategic planning, partnership development, and managing operations of sport and recreation facilities.
In this position you will lead a branch of more than 30 full time and over 150 casual staff who aim to enrich the lives of Regina residents through sport and recreation programming. This position also works with stakeholders and community partners to build a community that offers a diverse range of sport and recreation opportunities in Regina.
The primary objectives are to:
- Lead the development of strategic directions for sport and recreation in Regina that link to the City’s Official Community Plan and the City’s corporate priorities.
- Lead staff to deliver a cost effective mix of services and facilities with a focus on exemplary customer service that responds to need, promotes participation and maximizes revenue opportunities.
- Provide high level advice and support to the Director, Community Development, Recreation and Parks, and to the Department Management Team to promote sport and recreation priorities.
The Manager, Sport and Recreation will typically have obtained a degree in Recreation Administration, Business Administration or related discipline. The successful candidate will have at a minimum of 7 years experience in community development, sport and recreation with 5 years in a senior level administrative position.
